The Crisis Negotiation Team consists of  officers who work in various sections within the Lorain Police Department who are specially trained to interact with people in crisis and high risk-situations. The team mission to seek out a peaceful resolution to violent situations through dialogue and listening techniques.

The Crisis Negotiation Team deploys to those situations wherein a subject is barricaded and may reasonably be expected to possess deadly weapons and/or present a danger to him/her self or others or where hostages are being held.
