The Underwater Search and Recovery Team (Dive Team) is a joint operation between the Lorain Police Department, the Lorain Fire Department, and the Lorain Police Auxiliary. The team consists of highly trained divers proficient in using SCUBA and other underwater systems.  The Dive Team is responsible for underwater search and recovery operations on Lake Erie and other bodies of water within the boundaries of the City of Lorain. Underwater search and recovery operations encompass underwater criminal investigations, the recovery of bodies and property, and other operations that fall into the scope of duties and obligations of the Lorain Police Department.
